A popular former drive-through car wash in Waterford could be transformed into a takeaway coffee outlet under new plans.
Ardkeen Superstores Ltd has lodged plans relating to the former car wash site at Ardkeen Shopping Centre on the Dunmore Road.
The site was previously home to Noel’s Car Wash, which operated as a drive-through car wash.
Under the proposal, the existing drive-through arrangements established by the former car wash would be repurposed to serve takeaway coffee.
No changes are proposed to the existing traffic flow or the vehicular entrance and exit to the site.
The plans also include way-finding signage and a totem sign, along with landscaping works around the boundaries of the site.
The existing wall and glazed car wash screen would be removed and replaced with a low-level timber fin fence, while upgrades to surface finishes and planting are also proposed.
Existing commercial toilet and welfare facilities would be used by staff.
The application also provides for all necessary external site works.
