
A ceremony will take place in Waterford this Friday to mark 25 years since the 9/11 attacks in the United States.
Waterford City and County Council says the event will be held at 1.30pm in the gardens of the Bishop’s Palace and will provide an opportunity to remember and honour the thousands of people who lost their lives on 11 September 2001.
The ceremony will also remember the families, friends and communities whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.
The 25th anniversary falls on Friday, 11 September, with the Waterford ceremony providing an opportunity for people to come together to reflect and remember those affected by the attacks.
The ceremony will take place in the gardens of the Bishop’s Palace, Waterford, at 1.30pm on Friday.
