A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow.

Met Éireann is warning of spells of heavy rain, with the possibility of thunderstorms, which could lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

The warning will come into effect at 12pm on Thursday, August 27, and remain in place until 3am on Friday, August 28.

Outdoor events may also be impacted by the conditions.

The warning was issued at 9.05am on Wednesday, August 26.
