Plans have been submitted for a significant expansion of an existing engineering facility in Waterford City.

Weltec Engineering Limited has lodged a planning application seeking permission for a substantial extension of its operations, aimed at supporting the company’s continued growth.

The proposed development includes the construction of a new workshop, together with ancillary staff facilities and additional office accommodation.

As part of the plans, the company is also seeking permission for a new marshalling yard, dedicated staff and visitor car parking, and the installation of associated plant and equipment.

The application further includes proposals for new site fencing, building and site signage, alterations to the existing site entrance, and all associated site drainage and infrastructure works.

If approved, the expansion would significantly increase Weltec Engineering’s operational capacity at its existing base.

The planning application is currently before Waterford City and County Council for consideration, however it is marked as “incomplete”.
