Thousands of people gathered along the Tramore promenade and surrounding areas last night as the town’s annual Monster Fireworks Display brought one of its busiest summer seasons in recent years to a spectacular close.
The much-anticipated display, organised by Tramore Amusement Park, saw crowds turn out along the promenade, the Doneraile and other vantage points to watch as the night sky was illuminated by a spectacular fireworks show.
The event has become a major fixture in Tramore’s summer calendar and once again proved to be a huge community occasion, with a number of local organisations getting involved.
Manager of Tramore Amusement Park, Michael Garland, said the response from the community was fantastic.

“We’re delighted to do it. You can see the crowds, and not only that, the VIC gets involved, the Majestic and the Coast Guard Centre. It’s a great way to mark the end of the season,” he said.
“It’s a massive community event, and next year we’ll be back again.”
The fireworks display comes as the amusement park prepares to wind down another busy summer season in Tramore.
Mr Garland confirmed that the park will remain open next weekend, with the final planned weekend set for September 5th and 6th, weather permitting.
Depending on conditions, the park may also open for a number of additional days between now and the end of the season.
For thousands who gathered in Tramore last night, however, the fireworks provided a fitting finale to another memorable summer, with the town going out with a bang.
