Three Waterford men with a combined age of 230 years are aiming to make finding a trusted tradesperson that little bit easier.
Find A Trade.ie does exactly what it says on the tin by connecting people with tradespeople for everything from larger building jobs to those smaller household tasks that can sometimes be difficult to get sorted.
230 Years of Life Experience
Frank Kennedy is one of the three men behind the business, which was created with a particular focus on helping people who may not always feel confident choosing a tradesperson themselves.
Today’s world is a busy one, where too often it is the case that a tradesperson is due to arrive on Monday morning, but it comes and goes with no sign of anyone.
The business is tailored towards older members of the community, as well as people who are new to Waterford and may not yet have an established network of trusted local contacts.
The site features a growing catalogue of tradespeople covering a wide range of disciplines across Waterford City, Dungarvan and surrounding areas. The lads have the ambition of becoming the modern-day equivalent of the Golden Pages for trades.
Keeping the theme of manual work active is the fact that Frank is heavily involved with the Ferrybank Men’s Shed group and the Coffee House Lane group.
Frank joined Ollie and Dymphna on The Big Breakfast Blaa to chat about how the business has evolved, the etiquette involved when contacting a tradesperson about a job, and why sometimes a good handyman can be the perfect solution for those smaller jobs around the home.
Rogue Builders
He also discussed the growing concern around rogue builders, following warnings from Gardaí, and the importance of establishing trust between homeowners and tradespeople before work begins.
With experience, local knowledge and a simple aim of helping people find the right person for the job, Find A Trade.ie is continuing to grow. Sometimes, a business plan locally just needs three lads with 230 combined years experience.
