An Garda Síochána in Dungarvan will host a Suicide Awareness Event at the Fusion Centre on Friday, September 11, from 10am to 2pm.

The event will bring together local organisations, community representatives and charities to highlight the support available to people in the Dungarvan community.

Volunteers from HUGG, Shine and Grow will be available to speak about the work of their organisations, while Mayor Liam Brazil will also attend alongside other local representatives.

Dr Declan Matthews from Youghal Talks will discuss the initiative and how a similar approach could be developed in Dungarvan.

The event is open to everyone, whether attending in a professional or personal capacity, and organisers are encouraging people to come along for a chat, a cup of tea and an opportunity to share experiences and ideas about supporting the local community.

The event takes place at the Fusion Centre, Dungarvan, on September 11 from 10am to 2pm.
