Ragnall, Waterford Libraries’ extremely popular mascot, paid a visit to St. Mary’s National School in Ballygunner to encourage children to join the Summer Stars Reading Programme 2026.

Summer Stars is the public library national summer reading initiative for children and is running until August 24th.
All children throughout Waterford city and county are invited to join the adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading and writing over the summer.

Pop into any of the twelve library branches across Waterford city and county and pick up your reading card to track your progress. Return the card to Waterford Libraries before August 24th to receive a medal and certificate of achievement in school during September/October 2026. Summer Stars is non-competitive, and it is all completely free!
