Pawpear, a Waterford stationery brand and creative design company has been named as Waterford’s Enterprise Award winner and will go on to represent Waterford at the 26th National Enterprise Awards which will take place in the Mansion House, Dublin, on June 18th, 2026.

Kim Whyte is the Founder & Designer of Pawpear, an Irish stationery company inspired by Ireland’s culture, language and landscapes. Kim launched Pawpear in 2022, what began as a one-woman studio in Knockanore, West Waterford, has since grown into a stationery business stocked in over 70 shops across Ireland and beyond.  “Each Pawpear collection is an ode to Ireland, its wild landscapes, native language and rich lore. All designs are illustrated, printed and assembled in Ireland using sustainable materials and local suppliers.”

The aim of the National Enterprise Awards is to spotlight, showcase, encourage and support a culture of enterprise and entrepreneurship in our communities in Ireland, to promote entrepreneurship and to celebrate the achievement of the core client portfolio of the LEOs.

What sets Pawpear apart is its distinctive Irish-inspired designs that harness the power of colour to evoke, uplift and inspire. The illustrations reimagine our ancient landscapes, culture and heritage through striking shapes and bold colours. Every design incorporates elements of the Irish language, making each piece a small tribute to Ireland’s unique identity.

Welcoming the announcement, Mayor of Waterford City and County, Councillor Séamus Ryan, said, “For generations Waterford has always been renowned as a creative hub. Whether it be design of crystal or more modern technologies we’ve always been recognised for this gift. That’s why I’m so pleased to have the next generation of creativity recognised here today.

“I’d like to wish Kim and the team at Pawpear the best of luck as they go on to represent Waterford at the National Enterprise Finals.”

Gareth Evans, Head of Enterprise at Local Enterprise Office Waterford, congratulated the winner, “The National Enterprise Awards offer an invaluable opportunity for businesses to gain national recognition. We are delighted to have Pawpear represent Waterford this year.”

Kim Whyte was thrilled with the award, “We’re a young business, and so awards like this are very important. It’s a real honour to represent Waterford at the national final later this year.”
