A Yellow weather warning has been issued for most of the country, including Waterford.

A Status Yellow high temperature alert is in place for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway, and Mayo until 7am tomorrow.

Now, Met Éireann has issued a fresh warning for high temperatures for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, and Donegal, as well as Munster and Connacht.

It comes into effect at noon tomorrow and runs until 6am on Friday, with maximum temperatures which could be in excess of 27 degrees, and overnight minimum temperatures in excess of 15 degrees.

According to Met Éireann, potential impacts include water safety issues due to increased use of lakes, beaches and waterways, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, forest fires, and drought.
