
A 39 year old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of mother of three Yveta Donovalova (43) at Grange Heights in Waterford.
Ms Donovalova was found with serious injuries at her home on Monday evening last.
Tomas Marvanek of Grange Heights appeared before Judge Kevin Staunton at Waterford District Court this evening.
Det Garda Sean Lane of Waterford Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
When arrested at 11.50pm last night, the accused made no reply. When charged at 12.10am this morning he said “I have nothing to say”.
The issue of bail was not before the court as bail cannot be granted on this charge in the District Court.
Mr Marvanek was remanded in custody to appear again before Waterford District Court on Tuesday next May 5th via video link.
Defence solicitor Ken Cunningham asked that his client be medically and psychologically evaluated.
Mr Marvanek was dressed in black during the brief court appearance and had the services of a Czech interpreter.
