A man, aged in his 30, arrested in connection with the serious assault that occurred in Tramore, Co. Waterford yesterday, July 21st has been charged.

He is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning, Wednesday 22nd July 2026 at 10:30am.

At approximately 9:45am yesterday, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an assault in the Holy Cross Church on Summerhill, Tramore, Co. Waterford.

A female, aged in her 50s, was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí arrested a male, aged in his 30s, at a domestic residence located nearby.

A knife was seized by Gardaí seized a knife which will be technically examined.
