A man in his 80s was transferred to University Hospital Waterford yesterday following a single-vehicle crash near the village of Ballymacarbry.

Shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday August 23rd, emergency services responded to reports of a collision on the R671 Ballymacarbry road.

The driver, a man aged in his 80s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford as a precaution.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene, and the road into the village, which was closed for a time has since been reopened.
