Two teenage boys have been arrested after Gardaí pursued a stolen car on the M50 and in Whitehall, Finglas and Ballymun in Dublin.
One of the boys has been charged to appear before a court.
Gardaí began their investigation when a car was stolen from the Coolock area in the early hours of Wednesday.
Yesterday evening, shortly before 8pm, Gardaí say a related “managed containment operation” was launched.
They say a number of dangerous driving incidents were observed during this operation, including the suspect car being driven in the wrong direction on the road.
The suspect car was also driven at a Garda vehicle, ramming it at a junction of the M1.
Traffic Gardaí brought the car to a controlled stop and no injuries have been reported.
Two boys in their late teens were arrested at the scene, one has since been charged to appear before a court.
The other boy has been released pending a file to the youth diversion programme.
