More than 70,000 Leaving Certificate students have received their exam results today.

The results became available online and in schools at 10am.

Students locally have been reacting to the results, including at Abbey Community College in Ferrybank.

Speaking to WLR, Ms. Michelle Jefford, Principal of Abbey Community College said:

“We are immensely proud of each and every one of our students. Their dedication, resilience, and positive attitude have been truly inspiring. The exceptional results achieved this year, including a significant number of students attaining over 600 points. Today is a celebration of their achievements and of the many people who have supported them along the way. We wish the Class of 2026 every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”

Overall, data from the State Examinations Commission (SEC) shows that the class of 2026 has been awarded fewer top grades, with the proportion of H1s down by over one-and-a-half percentage points on 2025.
