A west Waterford village is set to get a new community social hub, with plans approved for a café and occasional pub use in Knockanore.

The project will see the existing Knockanore community building transformed into a new shared space aimed at bringing locals together for meetings, socialising and events.

KGK Community Development CLG applied for planning permission in March to Waterford Council for the development, which has now been granted approval.

The plans include a café along with occasional pub use, as well as an extension to the current building.

It’s hoped the project says the aim is to create a socially inclusive space focused on strengthening community life in the village.
