A crash is causing significant delays on the R680 approaching Kilmeaden this afternoon.

The collision happened at the junction known locally as Tramore/Butlerstown Cross, just outside Kilmeaden.

Traffic is building heavily in the area and motorists are being advised to avoid the route if possible.

Emergency services are yet to arrive at the scene. There are no details yet on injuries or how many vehicles are involved.
