The votes have been cast, and the nation’s top-rated hotel has been revealed at the 2026 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The annual awards rank the best beaches, activities and hotels from all over the world and those closer to home that ‘receive a high volume of above and beyond reviews and opinions from the TripAdviser Community over a 12-month period.’

While Ashford Castle made the cut for the one-of-a-kind hotel list, it ranked second in the Best Overall Hotel in Ireland category.

Piping it to the post was The Kilarney Park Hotel, which also ranked number 22 on the list of best hotels overall in Europe.

Managing Director Marcus Treacy said of the win: ‘These awards are especially meaningful as they reflect the voice of our guests.’

‘This recognition across Ireland and Europe is a testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team whose commitment to excellence makes achievements possible. I could not be prouder.’

Coming in third place on the list was another Kerry spot; Ballygarry Estate Hotel and Spa. Fourth place was taken up by The Alex Hotel in Dublin, with Adare Manor in fifth place.

Rounding out the top ten list were The Lake Hotel in Kerry, The Merrion Hotel in Dublin, Markree Castle in Sligo, The Talbot Hotel in Mayo and Clannard Court Hotel in Kildare.

Elsewhere, The Killarney Park’s sister property, The Ross, was also recognised in the awards.

It was named Best Small and Boutique Hotel in Ireland and number 22 in Europe in its category.
