Curraghmore Whisky, which is based at Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw Co Waterford is preparing for a new chapter as its on-site bonded warehouse nears completion. This new investment will open the door to a full “field to bottle” visitor experience.

The single Irish pot still whiskey brand, created by Richard Tyrone and based on the 850-year-old family estate, is approaching its 10th anniversary. While the project began a decade ago, 2023 saw Curraghmore’s first bottling and release of the whiskey. The brand is now seeing steady growth across markets in Ireland, the UK, Australia, Calgary in Canada, and Florida.

Speaking after a hectic All Together Now weekend on the estate, marketing manager, Laura Dee said the investment in a bonded warehouse is a statement of long-term intent. The new facility will allow the whiskey to mature in casks on site for the first time, with the ultimate goal of securing Origin Green certification by keeping every stage—grain growing, maturation and bottling—on the site.

Currently Curraghmore Whiskey casks are stored and bottled by WD O’Connell’s Whisky Merchants, another Waterford business. But from this autumn, visitors will be able to book whisky tastings by appointment in the refurbished 10 Stalls licensed bar within the courtyard, with a full tourism launch planned for next year.

September will see the 2026 bottling of Curraghmore’s triple cask whiskey, alongside limited-edition single cask releases—virgin oak, ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry—aimed at collectors and enthusiasts.
