Leading sustainable home heating manufacturer Grant has announced an €8 million investment in its Irish manufacturing operations as it expands production capacity and launches a new range of products designed to meet growing demand for low-carbon heating solutions.

The investment has supported a significant expansion of the company’s production facilities at its headquarters in Birr, Co. Offaly, and the development of a new Quick Recovery hot water cylinder range.

The new cylinders have been specifically designed to work alongside Grant’s Aerona R290 air source heat pump, creating a fully integrated home heating system aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

The expansion comes as demand for heat pumps continues to rise, driven by climate action targets, evolving building regulations, and government-supported retrofit programmes.

Grant says the investment will strengthen its ability to design and manufacture next-generation heating technologies in Ireland while meeting increasing demand from domestic and international markets.

Founder Stephen Grant said the company is seeing a significant shift towards sustainable heating technologies.

“We are seeing a clear shift in Ireland and across our wider markets towards sustainable heating technologies. This investment ensures we can continue to design and manufacture high-quality, innovative products here in Ireland that support that transition.”

He said the new Quick Recovery cylinder range was specifically developed to complement the Aerona R290 heat pump and provide homeowners with a complete and efficient heating solution.

Chief Executive Officer Niall Fay said the launch marks an important milestone for the company as the heat pump market continues to expand.

“By developing cylinders specifically for use with our award-winning Aerona R290 heat pump, we are providing installers and homeowners with a fully integrated solution that delivers both performance and efficiency.”

He added that the investment reflects the company’s continued commitment to manufacturing and innovation while helping to meet growing demand for sustainable home heating technologies.

Grant’s Aerona R290 heat pump uses a natural refrigerant with a low environmental impact and forms part of the company’s strategy to develop more environmentally friendly heating systems.

Founded more than 45 years ago, Grant has grown from its base in Birr into an internationally recognised manufacturer employing more than 400 people. The company supplies products across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe, and New Zealand.

The latest investment reinforces Grant’s commitment to Irish manufacturing while positioning the company to take advantage of growing opportunities in the global low-carbon heating market.
