
Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a petrol bomb attack which occurred in Waterford City.
Just before 3am this morning (Thursday), Gardaí were alerted to a house fire in the Larchville area.
Gardaí believe that this was an act of arson and that a petrol bomb was used to break a downstairs window and engulf the property in flames.
Gardaí, Fire and Ambulance personnel attended the scene soon after.
The occupant of the property escaped and was brought to UHW to be treated.
However, significant damage has been caused to the property and three dogs perished in the fire.

The incident is being investigated by the Crime Unit, Waterford Garda Station.
