Waterford Crime Unit are investigating a serious assault which occurred at The Minaun, Cheekpoint.

The incident happened on Saturday September 5^th between 12.30pm and 12.40pm.

A woman in her 40s was walking in the area, which is a woodland walk in Faithlegg, when she was approached and assaulted by a middle aged male.  

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to this matter. 

The alleged suspect is described as being approximately 5 ft 10 in height with a slim build, long dark hair and a long dark beard.

He was described as wearing a mid length dark jacket.  Investigations are ongoing.
