Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a burglary which occurred at a Waterford City supermarket last week.

The incident happened on July 31st just after midnight at Tesco Extra Ardkeen, Waterford City when a male wearing a grey hoody and black trousers stole items from the store.

According to Gardaí, he smashed a large pane of glass to gain entry to the store which was closed .

Staff were in the store at the time.

The man left in the direction of Farronshoneen Roundabout.
