Gardaí and emergency services responded to an alleged assault on John Street in Waterford City this afternoon, Friday, July 24th.

The incident occurred shortly before two o’clock.

A man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of injuries.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
