
At approximately 19.10hrs Monday 8th June 26, Gardaí at Waterford were notified of an alleged assault at St John’s River Walk, Tramore Road, Waterford. A male who had been out for jog on St John’s River Walk had been removed to University Hospital Waterford with serious but non-life threating injuries by ambulance.
Gardaí say the young man was jogging on Monday evening between 18.35hr and 18.55hrs when he was approached by two males unknown to him. Both appeared to be in their late 20’s and both were wearing blue, one possible brown hair and beard. Following some questions directed at the jogger by the suspects they began to assault the victim by kicking and punching him and he sustained multiple lacerations on his hands and arms.
It is believed the incident occurred sometime between 18.35hrs to 18.55hrs, people would be familiar with the area as it is just opposite the Kingfisher Gym by the footbridge over St John River into Ashley Avenue.
