Members of the public are asked to avoid the Tycor area of Waterford this evening due to a significant fire.

The fire broke out at a premises earlier, resulting in large plumes of smoke being visible during the Waterford v Cork Munster Senior Hurling Championship game at Walsh Park.

Gardai told WLR that there are potential concerns surrounding the presence of asbestos.

Local residents and members of the public are advised to stay indoors while the incident is being dealt with.
