Eight new Gardaí assigned to Waterford

Eight new Gardaí have been assigned to Waterford.
These new Gardaí are part of 206 members being attested at Templemore today. This is the third graduation class this year.
Six will be allocated to the Waterford City area, and two to the Dungarvan area, allowing for one Garda member to be allocated to the Lismore area.
Government Chief Whip, and Minister for Mental Health, Waterford’s Minister Butler stated: “It it is important to highlight that 23 new Gardaí have already been assigned to the Déise in the past year, before this new complement. I want to welcome them to Waterford and wish them well as they engage with local communities and become an active and visible presence throughout the county.”
She added: “As these new Gardaí take up positions in our communities, they will play an important role in high visibility policing. The high-visibility foot patrols are having an impact and making our communities safer.”
