The slipway at Dunmore East is closed today for the RNLI open water swim fundraiser.

Swimmers are following a course around clearly marked yellow buoys off the harbour, with junior and adult races taking place.

An exclusion zone is operating for the duration of the event, while kayaks and rigid inflatable boats are monitoring the perimeter of the swim route.

Boat users are being asked to navigate with extreme caution and minimise the effect of wash near swimmers in the water.

The event gets underway at 10:40 this morning and continues until 2:40 this afternoon.
