A special reception was held at the Civic Offices this afternoon in honour of the Dungarvan College Senior Volleyball Team, following their outstanding achievement in winning the All-Ireland Senior Schools title earlier this year.

The team’s historic victory marked the first time a school from Waterford has claimed the Senior All-Ireland title, making the achievement an especially proud moment for the school, the players and the wider community.

The players were presented with a certificate by Waterford City and County Council in recognition of their remarkable achievement and the honour they have brought to Dungarvan and Waterford.

The team, along with coaches Mark and John, were praised for their hard work, commitment and dedication throughout the season. The success is also a testament to the support of their families, teachers, Board of Management and everyone involved with Dungarvan College.

The reception provided an opportunity to recognise the players’ achievement and the significance of bringing the national senior schools title to Waterford for the first time.
