A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Dungarvan.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene on Sexton Street shortly before 10:50pm on Sunday night. The incident involved a car and a pedestrian.

The injured man was brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and Garda investigations are ongoing.
