In a post on social media, the Coast Guard said its Tramore team was activated by MRCC Dublin yesterday evening to assist a man in his 70s with suspected leg injuries at Tramore Beach.

The Coast Guard said the man was assessed by the team before being transferred by stretcher to a waiting National Ambulance Service ambulance for further care.

The team thanked its members and National Ambulance Service colleagues for their assistance and wished the casualty a full and speedy recovery.

The Coast Guard is reminding people that in a coastal emergency, they should dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
