Irish EuroMillions players are being urged to check their tickets after a lucky Cork punter scooped more than €365,000 in Friday night’s draw.
The player came agonisingly close to landing the massive €160.6 million EuroMillions jackpot, matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
However, despite missing out on the top prize by just one number, they still walked away with a life-changing €365,515.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased online by a player in Co Cork on Wednesday, June 3.
Lottery officials have since sent a notification to the winner, advising them to log in to their National Lottery account and check their ticket.
The winning numbers in Friday’s EuroMillions draw were 05, 06, 16, 17 and 49, with Lucky Stars 02 and 12.

The Cork player wasn’t the only Irish winner celebrating after the draw. A player in Co Wicklow also enjoyed a significant win after matching five numbers to claim €21,357.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Thursday at Tesco on the Wexford Road in Arklow.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said more than 69,000 players in Ireland won prizes across the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus games on Friday night.

‘While over 69,000 players in Ireland won prizes across the EuroMillions and Plus games on Friday night, it was an online player in Cork and a Wicklow player who won the biggest prizes of the night,’ she said.
‘Both winners who have tickets worth €365,515 and €21,357 are advised to contact the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit the Winners Room in Lottery Headquarters to collect their prizes.’
As nobody matched all seven numbers needed to win the jackpot, the EuroMillions top prize will roll over once again.
Tuesday night’s jackpot is now expected to climb to an estimated €175 million.
Players hoping to become Ireland’s next EuroMillions millionaire can purchase tickets in stores, through the National Lottery app or online before the 7.30pm sales deadline on Tuesday evening.
