Calls to further develop cruise facilities at Dunmore East

Plans to further develop Dunmore East as a cruise ship destination were raised at the latest Metropolitan District meeting of Waterford City and County Council.
It was suggested that the harbour play a greater role as plans for Waterford Airport also further progress.
However, Director of Services Michael Quinn said there are a number of challenges to overcome first. Listen here ⬇
Some cruise liners have been unable to stop off at Dunmore East this season, including the Norwegian Sky with around 2,000 passengers on board.
Instead, last Friday, the cruise ship stopped at Cobh and passengers were given the option of travelling to Waterford by bus.
