Love Island stars Lola Deal and Seán ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald have returned to home soil, and it sounds like it’s been nothing but a whirlwind since.
The couple appears to have settled into Irish life quite nicely, and everywhere they’ve turned, they’ve been met with friendly faces congratulating them and wishing them well.
While in Fitzy’s home county, the couple set out for a day at the Galway Races on Friday. Lola looked uber-glam in what appeared to be Odd Muse’s Cotton Mix Halter Midi Dress (€190).
A signature Odd Muse style, the midi has a thick-strapped halter neckline and transitions from a figure-hugging bodice into a flattering soft structured skirt.
On her arm, Fitzy looked dapper wearing a two-piece white linen suit, beneath which he donned a light khaki-coloured tee.
Lola, a Kent woman, has vowed to move to Ireland for her Galway man, but she may have second-guessed her pledge for one reason: You guessed it, the unpredictable Irish weather!
Speaking to Alan Clarke at the Galway Races, Lola joked: ‘[I was excited to move] until I saw the weather!’
Gesturing at the cloudy (but dry) sky, she said: ‘Everyone’s saying this is alright and I’m saying, “No it’s not”. I will still move, but as long as he knows it’s how much I love him that I’m giving up the sun for him.’
The couple revealed they’d been at the Galway Races for around an hour but had barely managed to make any headway into the festival.
‘The Irish are so nice; everyone that’s come up has been so nice. They feel like they know you and you’re just having the craic with all of them,’ Fitzy said.
‘Not one bad thing [has been] said, everyone’s just really supportive of how both of us represented our home countries.’
Fitzy and Lola had been in Galway a mere day, but Lola gushed: ‘Galway in general is lovely.’
The Love Island stars revealed their dinner of choice on Thursday had been from Lana Asian Street Food, and Fitzy shared that he’d be taking his love to Seven Bar for the chicken wings.
Lola and Fitzy will also be setting out on a day trip to the Aran Islands on Sunday.
‘I don’t know why you didn’t expect us [at the Galway Races]; we’re Galway people,’ he smiled. ‘She’s now a Galwegian, so obviously we’d be representing the home soil.’
Speaking about his experience on Love Island, Fitzy said: ‘I got some good mates out of it. It was weird not running around with a football. [I was] tanning a bit, getting to know a few people and just having the craic.
‘I think I never forgot the cameras were there cause I’m a teacher. I was biting my tongue a few times. I loved it, yeah, it was good craic, I made loads of friends, I found Lola, so yeah, happy days.’
Lola and Fitzy revealed what the public never got to see, and that was their late-night chats in bed.
The couple explained that they ‘talked all night’, and part of the reason Fitzy fell head over heels for Lola is that ‘she got my weird personality’.
Fitzy said his better half has a ‘weird personality’ in her own way. Sounds to us like they’re a match made in heaven!
