An accident has reportedly occurred on the Irish set of Wednesday, resulting in actress Eva Green being rushed to hospital.

The French actress, 45, is set to make her debut in S3 of Netflix’s Addams Family spin-off as ‘Aunt Ophelia’.

However, things appear to have got off to a bad start after suffering a ‘really nasty’ injury to her leg. The actress is said to have been filming near Dublin when the accident occurred.

Eva, best known for her role as Bond girl Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, is believed to be on the mend. Filming was halted, but it’s said to have resumed this month.

A source told The Sun: ‘This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain, and producers were taking no chances.

‘Medics were called, and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.’

Wednesday is beloved among Netflix viewers, and its first season holds the streaming platform’s record for the most-watched English-language show of all time.

No wonder then that it’s been recommissioned for a third instalment, with creators indicating that they’re open to potential future seasons.

Eva isn’t the only big name attached to the cast of S3. Ted Lasso’s James Lance, Andrew McCarthy, a member of the Brat Pack, Stranger Things’ Winona Ryder, and Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey are also set to appear in the upcoming season.

Game of Thrones actor Noah Taylor, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Oscar Morgan, Task’s Kennedy Moyer, and Dog Day Afternoon star Chris Sarandon have also joined the cast.

No official release date has been announced for Wednesday S3, with S2 having been released in August 2025.

The young Addams girl’s dark adventures at Nevermore Academy will continue. Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar have said a ‘new wave of insidious interlopers’ will challenge the school.
