US Vice-President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, have announced the arrival of their baby boy.

The couple welcomed their fourth child on Sunday at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Not only is it such a beautiful time for the family but the couple have also made history in the meantime.

‘We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,’ he announced in a statement shared on social media.

He highlighted that mum and baby are ‘happy and healthy’.

The couple share three children together, Ewan, nine, Vivek, six, and four-year-old Mirabel, and they were ‘overjoyed’ to meet their little brother.

Their new arrival is in fact a historical one as it marks the first time that a sitting US vice-presidential couple has welcomed a baby while in office since 1870.
