In a last-ditch effort to prove himself a Faithful, Traitors Ireland star Denis might just have let his cards show.
If you recall, at the beginning of S2, Denis told his fellow contestants he’s a ‘writer’, and he is; he wasn’t lying, but he didn’t tell them he’s a psychotherapist who prides himself on his ability to read people.
If we’re right about this (and we’re fairly certain we are), Denis has credentials up the wazoo. The 39-year-old is currently the Foundation Professor of Counselling & Psychotherapy at the National Counselling Institute of Ireland, a position he’s held since 2009.

Per ICHAS, Denis has also lectured at the University of Limerick and the University of Cork.
But none of his fellow contestants know that about him, although they may start to get a little suspicious after Monday’s episode saw him gunning for Páraic K at the round table in a very calculated manner.
‘If I’m going down, I’m taking a Traitor down with me, and Páraic K, I’m gonna come for you tonight,’ he said. ‘First theory: Exhaustion. We all know that murdering is a nocturnal activity. You’ve been looking wrecked.’

‘Next point: Traitors tend to over-volunteer information to preempt suspicion or attack. You came up to me yesterday, and you told me that you were anxious or that you have anxiety. Why? I never asked,’ Denis posed.
‘So again, really, really interesting that you shared it. When do I see you most anxious? And when I see you most anxious is here at the round table, and this is where Traitors should be anxious.
‘When I observe you at the round table, Páraic K, you are passive, and you’re quiet, but you’re fully activated. So, you’re constantly scanning, constantly looking. Your eyes are darting; you’re full of charge in your body, like you’re energised, but you’re not sharing anything.’

‘Where is your anxiety now?,’ Denis asked Páraic K.
One Instagram user wrote: ‘That was very impressive from Denis, alright,’ as another penned: ‘Surely they don’t cop Denise is a therapist after that.’
His training as a psychotherapist isn’t the only secret Denis is keeping, however, as he and his husband, Diego, have yet to reveal that they know each other outside the four walls of Slane Castle. Time will tell…
