Another golden TV couple bites the dust….
Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have announced that they’ve called time on their relationship after 23 years of marriage.
The presenters confirmed they’d split on Friday in a joint statement, saying that it was not ‘an easy choice’ but ‘comes from a place of mutual understanding.’

Tess and Vernon’s statement read: ‘After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.
‘This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us.
Looking to the future, they continued: ‘We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.

‘There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together. We will not be making any further public comments.’
Tess and Vernon said I Do in 2003 and are parents to their two daughters, Phoebe, 23, and Amber, 19.

The presenters first met in 2001, when he was a host on T4. They had an almost instant connection with Vernon telling Digital Spy at the time that they had ‘such a blast together’ from the get-go.
They were believed to be one of the showbiz world’s strongest couples, navigating scandal when Vernon was caught ‘sexting’ Page 3 model Rhian Sugden in 2010.
Opening up about her marriage to The Times in 2017, Tess admitted that all marriages have their ups and downs.

‘Marriage is always a work in progress,’ she added. ‘Vernon and I are just people at the end of the day.’
The split comes after another big change in the couple’s life, as Tess walked away from her hosting gig on Strictly Come Dancing after two decades.
