Miss Ireland’s Caoimhe Kenny has said she is ’emotional’ celebrating her one year anniversary of the day she was crowned the title.
The beauty queen – and daughter of football manager Stephen Kenny – was crowned Miss Ireland last June and will travel later this year to represent Ireland on the global stage at Miss World in Vietnam in a few weeks.
The Brown Thomas beauty buyer reflected on Sunday morning about the last 12 months, admitting why she was ‘feeling emotional’.

She said on social media: ‘Today is a really special day for me. It officially marks one year as Miss Ireland. I can’t believe I’m saying that. I can’t believe how quickly this year has went.
‘I’ve just woken up with so much gratitude, feeling so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had this year. I’m actually getting a bit emotional…all the people that I’ve met along the way.’
The Co Louth native said since the winning the title, she firmly believes that ‘dreams really do come true.’
‘This year has confirmed for me that your dreams really do come true with hard work, perseverance, and just never giving up. And I feel very fortunate that I get to represent my country at Miss World in Vietnam in the next few weeks.’
