The rumour mill is in overdrive over a celebrity edition of Traitors Ireland.
Extra.ie exclusively revealed this morning that RTÉ are in ‘advanced talks’ to stage a celebrity series of the show, after the regular edition proved a runaway hit.
And the bookies are already getting in on the act, with Ladbrokes pricing up the famous faces most likely to be banished at Slane Castle.

Daniel the early favourite
Punters have a clear favourite, and it is a man better known for a cup of tea than a cold-blooded betrayal.
Daniel O’Donnell is the odds-on favourite at evens to turn up at the round table, with Donegal’s finest nailed on in the eyes of the bookies.
Hot on his heels is singer Dermot Kennedy at 6/4, while RTÉ’s own Marty Morrissey, Hollywood star and comedian Aisling Bea and actor Daryl McCormack are all handily placed at 2/1.

Star names in the frame
There is no shortage of big names further down the list. Actor Domhnall Gleeson, presenter Graham Norton and media personality Vogue Williams are all in the running at 3/1, with comedian Deirdre O’Kane close behind at 4/1.
Singer CMAT, the self-styled Queen of Dunboyne, is a 5/1 shot to make the trip to Slane, while the biggest name of all, U2 frontman Bono, is a 10/1 outsider for a surprise reality TV bow.

‘Punters are getting excited’
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said the appetite is already building.
‘Punters are getting excited already for a celebrity edition of the Traitors Ireland,’ she said. ‘A slew of Irish talent is being lined up for the first season after seeing the success in the UK.’

It will likely happen
The speculation is not plucked from thin air. Extra.ie exclusively revealed this morning that RTÉ are in ‘advanced talks’ to stage a celebrity series of the show.
The first series drew an average audience of 557,000, with the finale pulling in a huge 732,000 viewers and the show racking up more than four million streams on the RTÉ Player.
Crucially, it also landed with the younger, harder-to-reach audience RTÉ craves, taking a 70% share among 18 to 44-year-olds.
A celebrity version would follow the lead of the BBC, whose Celebrity Traitors became one of the biggest TV events in Britain last year.
No names have been signed up yet, but with the bookies already taking bets, the race to the round table is well and truly on.
