As a place to lay your head while in Dublin, Eastham, 13 Wellington Place in Ballsbridge is pretty high on the luxe postcode lottery scales, which explains why Shane Ryan called it home for so long.
Shane, the son of the late Ryanair tycoon Tony, and his family split their time between the capital and Tipperary, but are now upgrading their city digs and moving into another of their homes in Dublin 4 which has undergone years or renovation.
And what a place they’re saying goodbye to, with Eastham now on the market for rent at a cool €13,000 a month – far from Ryanair’s famous prices that made the family’s fortune.

Eastham is described as an ‘exceptional’ four-bedroom residence spread across 354 sqm with ‘refined finishes’ and has ‘superb privacy’.
While it’s got a few luxury touches (we definitely don’t have a wine cellar in our rented homes), Eastham has managed to maintain its charm, with the decor staying true to the period home’s style.
The ground floor has two large reception rooms with high ceilings and period fireplaces that create a cosy yet sophisticated space for entertaining pals over glasses of wine.

While the home is being rented unfurnished, the walls have all been painted in neutral tones, meaning it’ll be easy to put your own stamp on the place.
Alternatively, you could take inspiration from the listing’s photos, which show plenty of colourful art hung around the home, and add splashes of colour.
Down to the basement level, you find a large space made for socialising with a kitchen complete with blue cupboards, marble countertops, and countryside touches such as on-the-wall storage for plates.

To one side of the kitchen is a white stone wall with a small seating area and a fireplace, while the other leads into the green conservatory.
This has to be a star space of the home, with the conservatory area easily sitting eight at a table and having more seating that appears to double as built-in storage around the edges.

Bedroom-wise, there are four sizeable rooms across the upper and basement level, three of which are ensuite.

One of the rooms is decked out in floral wallpaper, while the room across the landing is painted green with a statement four-poster bed with yellow drapes taking centre stage.

Another luxury perk inside Eastham is the wine cellar – talk about a dream space that’ll impress your guests and add a little extravagance to your everyday.

Outside, the home also has a spacious southeast-facing garden with a patio area and grass. Out front, there’s parking for five cars.
