RTÉ has responded to queries about Patrick Kielty’s future as host of the Late Late Show, as the final lineup of the season has been announced.

Co Down comedian Patrick took over from Ryan Tubridy on a three-year contract back in 2023, hosting three seasons of the revamped show.

With this Friday being the final episode of Patrick’s third and final season, many are expecting him to stay on this autumn. However, there hasn’t been a word on whether Patrick will be returning for a fourth season, with rumours surrounding his future intensifying.

A spokesperson for RTE told Extra.ie: ‘RTÉ does not comment on individual contracts.

‘As the Late Late Show reaches the end of another successful season, it has an average of 390,000 viewers per episode – 38% share with 1.4 million streams on RTÉ Player to date. We look forward to the programme returning for its 65th year in the autumn.’

Extra.ie has contacted Patrick’s representatives for comment.

While RTÉ has kept mum on whether Patrick will return for a fourth season, the lineup of his final episode of the season has been revealed — with Westlife leading the pack as they take a trip down memory lane ahead of their anniversary gigs.

Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan will perform three of their biggest hits, with the band also teasing a huge collaboration that RTÉ said audiences wouldn’t have known they needed.

They’ll also be chatting to Patrick about gearing up for their 3Arena residency this September, as well as hilarious fan-encounter stories as they soak up the nostalgia. Plus, one Westlife superfan will go head-to-head with the lads themselves to find out who really knows the band best.

Music icon Boy George will also be joining Patrick on the couch on Friday night, where he’ll be chatting about an upcoming exhibition of some of his most legendary outfits, which are heading to the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware this May.

He will also chat about his extraordinary career, his Irish roots and how his late Dublin-born mother influenced his creativity and love of fashion and style.

Garron Noone will also be joining the lineup this Friday, where he’ll be bringing his trademark craic and deliciousness to the studio. He’ll also be revealing what he’s been up to recently, as well as his own secret Westlife fandom — while fans will be hyped to hear of his upcoming announcement.
