Chocolate and porridge are the secret to a long life, at least according to Rosanna Davison’s grandmother, Maeve, who has just turned 100.

Maeve was born on 22 June 1926 and lived through countless evolutions and advancements in her lifetime.

Her nearest and dearest were by her side as she marked the phenomenal milestone, including Rosanna, who penned a thoughtful tribute to her gran.

Rosanna said: ‘A century of love, laughter, adventures, stories, wisdom and a truly remarkable life.

‘Happy 100th birthday to my amazing grandmother, born on this day in 1926. What a privilege it is for our families to celebrate 100 years of you.’

‘PS, she credits daily porridge and chocolate for her longevity.’

Joining Rosanna in celebrating Maeve were her parents, her husband Wes, and her two brothers. Pictures show the family celebrating with cake.

Rosanna’s followers were loving the sweet moment with one person writing: ‘Wow how amazing!

‘A true life inspiration… happiest of birthdays to her. ‘

Someone else wrote: ‘Such a special occasion! Happy birthday to wonderful Maeve.’

‘Absolutely spectacular! Happy 100th birthday to you beautiful Grandmother!’ wrote a third.

It’s been a bumper few weeks of celebration for the family, as Rosanna’s brother Hubie walked down the aisle at the end of May.
