More and more Irish women are being recognised on the red carpet for their style, and our own Ruth Negga turned heads this year at the Cannes Festival.
The actress who is trained in Shakespearean theatre first grabbed people’s attention when she stepped out onto the red carpet at Cannes in 2016 for Jeff Nichols’ Loving.
Ruth took to the stage that night to present the Jury Prize to Valeska Grisebach for her film Das Geträumtw Abenteuer (The Dreamed Adventure).

Ruth went for a white satin/silk tight corset-style dress decorated with flower diamante-studded decor throughout.
She paired the look with a high satin heel with angle strap. For accessories, the star kept it to a minimum with a stunning choker from Chopard High Jewellery.
A bright Marilyn Monroe-style red lipstick brought a hint of colour to the actress’s look – classic and elegant.

Jury member Demi Moore, who was in attendance each night for the awards, wore a vibrant green with what looks like a baby blue overcoat.
