The atmosphere was electric at the Irish Film Institute as the red carpet was rolled out for the Irish premiere of The Odyssey.
There was a buzz in the Dublin cinema like no other as well-known faces stepped out to watch arguably the most hotly anticipated movie of 2026 on the big screen.
Movie buffs were thrilled to hear that The Odyssey was being shown in 70mm, as director Christopher Nolan intended his masterpiece to be.

Tuesday evening was a chance for people to express their creativity through fashion, as many opted for draped silhouettes and flowing fabrics, hoping to emulate the film.
It was date night for some, including Ryan Tubridy and his wife, Dr Clare Kambamettu, and Terrie McEvoy and her husband, David Fitzpatrick.
A family affair for others, as Lorraine Keane attended with her daughter, Emelia; Helen Steele brought her daughter, Halle; and Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh brought her son, Darach.

There was some acting royalty in the house as well, with Derry Girls’ Siobhán McSweeney and Kin star Aidan Gillen in the audience.
Siobhán looked very Grecian altogether in a flowy, gold shimmering maxi dress, which she teamed with sandals.

Other well-known faces in attendance included Paralympian Ellen Keane, Olympian Jack Woolley, and radio stars Thomas ‘Crossy’ Crosse, Zeinab Elguzouli, and Dave Moore.
Ian Dempsey was there with his wife, Ger, in tow, as was RTÉ star Sarah McInerney, who cut a summery figure in a denim mini dress.

After the almost three-hour-long film, guests were treated to a post-screening reception in the cinema’s foyer, where they could sip on an Ouzo-based cocktail (incredibly Ithaca-esque!)
