‘Our greatest adventure’ — RTE star welcomes first child with partner

An RTÉ Radio One star has announced the birth of her first child on social media.
RTE star and former producer of The 2 Johnnies, Maura Fay, has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with partner Ciaran McKenna.
The Meath native, who joined RTÉ Radio 1’s flagship mid-morning programme Today as a reporter in 2024, first shared the news of her pregnancy in March this year.
The presenter revealed yesterday that she had given birth to their baby and had returned home with their newborn.
Maura shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram showing Ciaran walking through the hospital corridors while carrying their little one in a car seat.
Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘The strongest arms carrying our greatest adventure home.’
The radio star’s friends, colleagues and fans were quick to fill the comments with messages of love and congratulations.
Before joining RTÉ, Maura spent six years helping to build one of Ireland’s most successful podcasts, The 2 Johnnies Podcast.
Fay previously told followers she was stepping away from the podcast due to the demands of travelling and other work commitments.

Her departure left a lasting impact on the show, with Johnny Smacks telling fans: ‘She brought this podcast from Johnny B’s spare room to Ireland‘s number one podcast.”
However, fans were delighted when Maura made a surprise return to the podcast last month – this time appearing as a special guest, sharing her excitement for the next chapter in her life.
