Ever since Seán ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald was announced as part of the Love Island 2026 line-up, several women have come forward to joke about their ex entering the villa.

One such woman was 2FM’s Helen Galgey, who is rumoured to have been approached to enter the villa as a bombshell, in an attempt to shake things up.

As these women come forward, Fitzy’s sister, Katie Fitzgerald, has spoken out, dispelling rumours that her brother has a ‘string of exes’ that implies he’s a bit of a player.

And he is a player, on the pitch, that is, as the GAA star has reportedly only been on ‘one or two dates’ with ‘one of two’ of these girls, according to Katie.

Speaking on local radio, Katie said: ‘The girls that are coming out are not his exes, they are not his actual ex-girlfriends. One or two that I have seen, he went on one or two dates with them, and that was it.’

So, that’s outside the villa, but inside the villa, Fitzy set his sights on police detective Lola Deal on day one, and the pair have officially become ‘locked off’.

Katie has given Lola her stamp of approval, describing her as a ‘really nice’ girl.

Another of the women who came forward about a dating experience with Fitzy was social media specialist Lauren Gray, who went pretty viral when she joked he was still wearing the ring they made together on their first and only date.

She previously told EVOKE: ‘He booked our first date at SilverWorks in Drury Street in Dublin. It was like a ring workshop. I thought it was so strange, but I thought it was different.’

‘It went well until we were on a bridge in the middle of Dublin,’ Lauren recalled. ‘He gave his phone to these random people walking by.

‘I didn’t know what was going on. But then he did a fake engagement with the ring that we just made, and I thought that was kind of weird… That kind of turned me off.’

She by no means claims to be an ex of Fitzy’s, but she’s definitely rooting for him to succeed, telling EVOKE: ‘He’s incredibly sweet, kind and funny. He really needs someone who matches his vibe. He’s extroverted and has a lot of energy.’
