Lottie Ryan has thanked her friends and fans for their well-wishes after she landed a huge new role.
The eldest child of Gerry Ryan followed in her dad’s footsteps after his passing, taking up roles as a presenter on TV and radio over the years.
While we most recently heard Lottie on the airwaves on 2FM — just like her late father over the years — Lottie announced on Friday that she was heading to Virgin Media, taking up the new role of co-host on the Six O’Clock Show.

Joining Brian Dowling as co-host, Lottie announced the new career change on Friday afternoon — and thanked her followers and contemporaries for the messages of support that she’s received.
‘I don’t quite have the words for today,’ Lottie wrote. ‘I’ve spent the last few hours reading your messages, comments and texts and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so overwhelmed, in the best possible way.
‘The response has truly knocked me for six… pun absolutely intended,’ Lottie joked. ‘Thank you for every message, every comment and every good wish. It means more than you know.’

‘I can’t wait for what’s next!!!’
Brian was originally hosting alongside Katja Mia, who left to start her new role as a radio presenter on 2FM — with Lottie heading in the opposite direction, as she trades RTÉ for Virgin Media as Brian’s new co-host on The Six O’Clock Show.
‘Lottie is such a professional to work with and is a perfect choice to be the next host of the show,’ an insider told Extra.ie before the official announcement.

‘Lottie and Brian have such great chemistry when they’re together and have been friends for years. She is a great addition to Virgin Media.’
Brian and Lottie have known each other for years and also signed up to Dancing With The Stars in 2020 together. Lottie won the glitzy entertainment dance show that year as the country went into lockdown.
The pair made television history together on the RTÉ One show’s ‘Switch-Up Week’ in February 2020 by participating in the show’s first-ever same-sex dance pairings.
Brian danced with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, while Lottie danced with professional dancer Emily Barker during switch-up week.
