If you’ve not been lucky enough to attend one of Joanne McNally’s shows, we can almost guarantee you’ve seen some of the funny woman’s skits floating around the internet.

The Dubliner is known for her observational comedy and honest storytelling, often blending her own personal experiences with humour that leaves us cackling.

She’s totally unfiltered, which we’re certain she wouldn’t mind us saying, and our favourite aspect of her comedy is her hot takes on pretty much anything and everything.

It’s our firm belief, then, that she’ll be unparalleled on the new show, Unacceptable, which will air from Sunday, July 5.

Ed Gamble hosts the new series, which sees team captains Joanne and Richard Ayoade (another of our favourite comics) go head-to-head over ‘deeply questionable takes’.

A very brief synopsis for the show reads: ‘Some of your favourite comedians are about to defend opinions that should’ve stayed as inside thoughts.’ And that’s enough to have us sat already!

Unacceptable is a fast-paced, ‘refreshing’ take on your standard comedy panel show. It comprises six hour-long episodes in which comedians convince the studio audience to see the light on their hot takes.

A ‘stellar’ line-up of guests on the show includes Maisie Adam, Guz Khan, Joel Dommett, Katherine Ryan, Tom Davis, and Executive Producer Romesh Ranganathan.

Each episode, Joanne and Richard are joined by two guest comics who reveal one unhinged opinion. The whole team hears the opinion for the first time and is then forced to defend it with all of their might.

The opinions will be tested by the studio audience twice, who vote both before and after the argument. Using a live swingometer, host Ed will track exactly how many audience members the comics win over.

Romesh Ranganathan tries to justify paying the Royal family more; Katherine Ryan believes all men should have vasectomies at birth, Ivo Graham attempts to convince us that private school kids need State support, and Maisie Adam thinks we should let AI run the world, plus many more.

Joanne McNally must put forward her compelling case that women are just not funny, and Richard Ayoade must argue that action movies are peak cinema.

Whichever team wins the majority over will be crowned the winners. This series sounds like a winner in our books!

Mark your calendars for July 5. It comes just before Joanne’s turn on Celebrity Traitors (which we also can’t wait for).
