Irish TV stars have gone all out for the Royal Television Society (RTS) Ireland Awards on Thursday night.

The award ceremony saw over 400 guests from across the Irish television world head to the Dublin Convention Centre.

With the ceremony being presented annually between Ireland’s TV companies, with it being RTÉ’s turn this year. RTÉ Radio 1’s Louise Duffy and 2FM’s Aisling Bonner presented the ceremony, in front of esteemed guests from the television industry.

Awards were presented across 12 categories decided by the RTS judging panel, while two special awards — the Breakthrough Talent Award and Outstanding Contribution Award — were presented to Eric Roberts and the late Manchán Magan, respectively.

The Breakthrough Talent Award, which was won by Ireland AM presenter Eric, is decided by the RTS ROI Committee and recognises new and emerging professional excellence in the role of Presenter, Journalist, Show Host, Commentator or Cast Member.

Poet and author Manchán, who passed away following a battle with cancer last year, was posthumously awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award, which is decided by the committee and presented to a person/group of people that have made a significant contribution to the Irish television scene over a number of years.

Other notable winners include the runaway success of The Traitors Ireland, which won the Entertainment award, while comedy-drama The Walsh Sisters won the Audience Choice award.
